Photoresponsive Vesicles

Controlling the morphologies and shapes of molecular assemblies in macro- and mesoscopic regions by remote stimuli has attracted considerable attention. In particular, controlling vesicle morphologies by light possesses good potential application in drug delivery systems. We prepared visible- and red-light responsive vesicles by incorporating a ruthenium aqua complex having two alkyl chains on tridentate and asymmetrical bidentate ligands. (M. Hirahara et al., Chem.
